Wireless internet available for residents and small businesses in north east; Can be installed in 3-7 business days

Washington, DC– DC Access, Washington’s first and only wireless Internet service provider (WISP), today announced the expansion of its wireless Internet coverage to North East D.C. With its new Point-of-Presence (PoP), which is located two blocks away from Union Station, DC Access has the ability to reach more than 25,000 residents and over 2000 small businesses on Capitol Hill.

In July 2003, DC Access became the first ISP in Washington to offer wireless Internet directly to residential and small business customers. DC Access uses high-powered antennas to broadcast wireless Internet connections, eliminating the “last mile” connection problems associated with landline services and the need to order a physical connection from a large telecommunications provider. DC Access is also partnering with local property management companies and owners of residential and commercial multi-tenant units to secure strategic rooftop access for its antennas.

“High-speed Internet access on Capitol Hill from other carriers tends to be limited, overpriced and/or unreliable. Residents and small business owners are looking for a competitive alternative,” said Matt Wade, president of DC Access. “DC Access has already solidified a strong presence on Capitol Hill and plans to expand its coverage to other parts of the District, Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland. DC Access is growing a large network of satisfied customers, who now have a reliable and affordable solution for their Internet access.”

DC Access’ wireless Internet service plans range from 200kbps up through 1Mbps, with packages starting as low as $29 a month.
