Configuring Windows NT 4.0
Dial-Up Network
Checking RAS Network Settings
 
  • Select the Network icon on your Windows NT desktop. 
  • Click the right mouse button and click on Properties on the popup menu. 
  • Click on the Services tab. 
  • Click one on Remote Access Service in the list, then click on the Properties button. 
  • You will see a screen like the one below. 
  • (A) Click on the Configure button to configure the modem to dial out and/or receive calls. 
  • (B) Click on the Network button to configure the RAS Network configuration. 
  • By default Port Usage should be set to Dial out only. 
  • If you use Windows NT to receive calls this should be set to Dial out and Receive calls. If unsure of this please check with your Network Administrator. 
  • Click OK. 
(A)
  • Usually TCP/IP should be the only Dial out Protocol checked. If unsure of this please check with your Network Administrator if other protocols are required for other Dial-Up Networking connections. 
  • Click OK. 
(B)
  • Click OK on Remote Access Setup. 
  • Click OK on Network. 
  • Windows NT will review the RAS settings and tell you that you need to restart the computer.
