high-speed Internet is no longer viewed as an amenity, but as a
necessity. About seven years ago, Evolve recognized the need to make it
easy for residents to access a high-speed connection, but was concerned
about the impact of integrating broadband technology into historic

Washington Business Journal Book of Lists 2010

The 2010 list of Telecommunications Service Providers is ranked by
number of metro-area employees and is headed up by four telecom giants:
Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp., and
Comcast Corp. DC Access is at #24 on the list, employing just two
people. Coming in at #23 on the list is partnerTel, Inc., which is
headquartered in Atlanta and employs 15 people in the DC area, out of
